PE Update

Year 2 Cricket Tournament @ JMA

On Thursday 28th February, our Year 2 Cricket team competed at the Reading School Games festival. The competition was made up of various skills based activities with a focus on fielding, batting and bowling. Our team had lots of fun competing against other schools and came in at third place which is a great achievement.

Year 5-6 Tag Rugby @ The Hill

On Thursday 7th March our Year 5-6 Tag Rugby team competed at the Hill Tag Rugby competition. Some incredible performances from our players saw us win all four of our matches against some really talented teams. Our team worked really hard in defense and scored some really nice try’s throughout the tournament. Great performance from a team we expect to make even more progress next year.

Years 1-2 & Years 3-4, Gymnastics Competition @ Reddam House

On Tuesday 12th March our Yr 1-2 & 3-4 Gymnastics team competed at the Level 3 Berkshire School Games. Both our teams competed really well in a tough competition against other schools from around the county. Our Year 3-4 team finished fourth place which is an amazing achievement for the team. Both teams dedicated themselves with practices after school for weeks before the competition and their hard work really shone through on the day.

Years 1 & 3 Change 4 life festival @ The Wren, Thursday 14th March

On Thursday 14th March our Year 1 & 3 Change 4 Life teams competed at the Wren School in a competition with included an array of different skills and teamwork events. Both teams competed with a fantastic attitude and came away from the tournament having learned lots of new skills to use in their PE lessons next term.

Year 3 Indoor Athletics @ Civitas

On Tuesday 19th March our Year 3 Indoor Athletics team competed at the very first Civitas Athletics Tournament which consisted of teams from all our Reading partnership schools. We competed in both track and field events with every competitor taking part in more than one activity. After a well run and fun tournament, our team finished in first place and all received a gold medal each, we’re really proud of our Year 3 team.

Year 3-4 Tag Rugby Tournament @Crosfields, Thursday 21st March

Our Year 3-4 team competed at the annual Crosfields Tag Rugby Tournament on Thursday 21st March. Our team were placed in a very competitive league and performed incredibly well winning 3 games, drawing one and only losing one. An incredible set of performances in a team which featured some Year 3’s competing in the tournament for the first time. An amazing effort from every player.
